Couples who are exploring embryo adoption as an option for building their family are often eager to get started right away. Many of them have tried IVF unsuccessfully – multiple times!  Some are facing the prospect of having to purchase expense human eggs to create more embryos.  When you are trying to overcome infertility, everything takes more time than you’d like.

You’ll want to work with an agency that understands your desire to move quickly.

Families can be matched with a donor within six months of completing their adoption home study. This time frame will vary based on factors such as how many families are currently donating embryos, and whether their preferences in a match align with yours. The good news is that more people are donating their remaining embryos now than ever, so you have a higher chance of being matched more quickly. Once you are matched with a donor, and the contractual agreements as signed, the next step is to have the embryos shipped to the clinic where you will prepare to have your frozen embryo transfer completed.

And if everything goes well, just nine months later, you’ll be holding your adopted child in your arms. When compared to other alternative family building options, embryo adoption can happen quite quickly.
