When my husband and I got married in 2017, we always dreamed of growing our family.
We assumed it would happen naturally, but infertility quickly became an unexpected and painful chapter in our lives. The journey was harder than we imagined—but in 2021, after walking the road of IVF, we welcomed our first daughter into the world. We were overwhelmed with gratitude for the gift she was to us.
With hearts full of love and the desire to grow our family further, we tried again. However, this time, we faced multiple failed embryo transfers and the heartache that comes with them. Eventually, we needed to take a step back—a break to heal and regroup.
Even in the midst of waiting, the longing for more children never faded.
As we prayed and reflected, we began to explore adoption. That is when we came across the Snowflakes Embryo Adoption Program, and something in our hearts clicked.
The idea of embryo adoption felt both familiar and deeply meaningful. We had already experienced IVF, so the process of embryo transfer was not intimidating—and the opportunity for me to carry the baby and bond with our child through pregnancy made the decision feel just right. In the fall of 2023, supported by the encouragement and generosity of our loved ones, we applied.
After working through the application process, we were matched with a placing family. Thanks to their incredible gift, we adopted three embryos. The team at Snowflakes was with us every step of the way—answering our questions, guiding us through the paperwork, and truly making us feel cared for.
Our first transfer was successful!
In December 2024, we welcomed our daughter Lydia into our lives. We can hardly express the joy she brings to our family. Being her parents is a privilege beyond words.
Today, we continue to pray for the future—hopeful for the chance to transfer our remaining embryos and trusting that God will guide us in every next step. We are grateful for the support we have received and continue to believe that He will provide—both emotionally and financially—as our journey unfolds.
We share our story with open hearts, in the hope that it might encourage others who are walking a similar path. If you are considering adoption or looking into an embryo adoption or donation program, we hope our experience offers you a spark of hope.
There is beauty in the unexpected—and joy waiting on the other side of yes.
