Our journey to parenthood has been shaped by hope, resilience, and a deep desire to grow our family.
When we got married in 2018, we dreamed of a full household and always planned to pursue adoption someday after having a few biological children. Like many couples, we imagined a straightforward path forward. However, our story unfolded in ways we never could have anticipated.
I had been diagnosed with PCOS the year before we got married, so we knew conceiving might take time. Even with that expectation, we never imagined our journey would include six years of infertility. Month after month, year after year, we navigated the emotional highs and lows that come with trying to grow a family—holding onto hope while learning to process disappointment along the way. In 2023, my husband received a diagnosis of unexplained infertility, which ultimately closed the door on the remaining medical options available to us.
We knew we still deeply desired to experience pregnancy and birth, and we knew that adoption had always been part of our story. What we did not know yet was how those two desires could come together.
At the beginning of 2024, we were introduced to Snowflakes Embryo Adoption. It was something we had never seriously considered before, but as we began to learn more, it immediately resonated with us. Embryo adoption offered a unique path—one that allowed us to experience pregnancy while also pursuing adoption in a way that aligned with our values and hopes for our family.
After taking time to reflect, ask questions, and seek guidance from people we trust, we decided to move forward. Not long after, we were matched with a placing family, and from the very beginning, it felt like the right fit. There was a sense of peace and excitement as we stepped into a process that was both new and deeply meaningful.
The adoption journey itself stretched and strengthened us in ways we did not expect. It required patience, vulnerability, and often felt out of our control. But it also reminded us that sometimes the most meaningful paths are the ones we never planned.
In May 2025, we underwent our first frozen embryo transfer—and it was successful. After years of waiting, hoping, and wondering if this moment would ever come, we finally saw the positive pregnancy test we had dreamed of. It is hard to fully capture what that moment felt like after such a long journey.
Our son was born in February 2026, and from the moment we held him, everything shifted. The years of waiting, the uncertainty, the unexpected turns in our story, all of it led us to him.
He has brought so much joy and healing into our lives in ways we didn’t even realize we needed. Every smile, every quiet moment, every milestone feels incredibly meaningful. We are deeply grateful not only for him, but for the placing family who entrusted us with such an extraordinary gift, and for the team at Snowflakes who supported us with care and compassion throughout the entire process.
As parents, we are committed to raising our son in a home filled with love, stability, and open communication. We want him to always feel safe and free to ask questions about his story. From the very beginning, we will speak openly and positively about embryo adoption and the incredible family who made his life possible.
If you are walking through infertility or considering adoption, we hope our story offers encouragement. There is no single path to building a family, and sometimes the road looks very different from what we first imagined.
For us, embryo adoption became a path we are endlessly grateful for—one that has shaped our family in the most meaningful way.
